Chilla Cup at Quill 7 Sentral is a great place for a good cup of coffee and nice breakfast.
Compared to our first visit to Chilla Cup, the food was less salty this time.
Like our previous visit, we upgraded our coffee to Latte for an additional MYR 3.00 each.

Chilla Cup Latte

Continental breakfast
We chose beef bacon, hash brown and scrambled eggs for our continental breakfast set this time.
The beef bacon was less salty and less crispy than the first time, but it was better this time. The hash browns were delicious while the scrambled egg was also less salty much to our likings.

Filled Pretzel set

Filled Pretzel set with pepperoni
We also ordered breakfast set B or Filled Pretzel set with pepperoni (beef) as our preferred filling. As the pretzel also has cheese, the mix of both cheese and pepperoni has made it tastes like pepperoni pizza. Having pepperoni pizza for breakfast was perhaps a bit too filling.
Besides pepperoni, one can also choose apple cinnamon, sweet corn, sweet potato, red bean or hotdog (chicken) for the filling.
Verdict: The food was less salty than our previous visit. We were glad the management took notice of our review and improved the food. We truly enjoyed the food and the coffee, of course.

Starbucks Valencia Frappuccino
Starbucks Valencia Frappuccino is Starbucks Malaysia new drink for this Chinese New Year festive season along with Valencia Macchiato.
Starbucks Valencia uses sweet Valencia orange syrup which makes the drink tangy and sweet and honey orange. What’s better than that?

Chilla Cup is a great place to chill out for a great cup of coffee and pretzels! Recently, my wife and I went to Chilla Cup at Quill 7 Sentral for a good cup of coffee and breakfast.

Chilla Buzz
Chilla Cup has a disc-shaped pager like Tom Tom Coffee which vibrates once the coffee are ready to be collected at the counter.

Breakfast Deals at Chilla Cup
Every breakfast sets come with either Americano or Gourmet tea. An upgrade to Latte or Cappuccino would cost an additional MYR 3.00.

Chilla Cup Latte
As we weren’t a fan of Americano nor Tea, we upgraded our hot drinks to Latte.
The Latte was pleasant and aromatic as it was brewed from freshly roasted beans.

Continental breakfast
Breakfast set D consists of continental breakfast served with toast. For MYR 9.90, it comes with one choice of add-on sides while for MYR 12.90, it comes with any 3 add-on sides, MYR 15.90 comes with any 5 and MYR 17.90 comes with any 7. Add-on sides consist of beef bacon, hash brown, chicken sausage, baked beans, egg (omelete/scrambled), grilled tomatoes or sauteed mushrooms.
The beef bacon was quite salty, at times, I thought I was eating salty fish. The egg was also a bit on the salty side, so was the chicken sausage.

Pretzel set (Parmesan)
Breakfast set A consists of pretzel set and the flavors available are plain, original, cinnamon sugar or Parmesan.
Parmesan pretzel was also quite salty and cheesy as well.
Verdict: The coffee was good, the ambiance was not too bad as it is always nice to see white-collar workers walk past by starring at us enjoying a good cup of coffee at rush hour. However, the food was a bit on the salty side and could be better with less salt. Still, the breakfast sets are a steal as normally a cup of Latte/Cappuccino would cost around MYR 9.50 – MYR 10.50
Update: We visited Chilla Cup for a second time and found the food was less salty this time around.
Besides at Quill, Chilla Cup are also located at Solaris Mont Kiara and Subang Avenue Shopping Mall. Unlike Quill 7 Sentral which opens only on weekdays, the other branches open till late and on the weekends too.

Starbucks Cranberry White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino
Cranberry White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino is one of the new drinks for Christmas 2011 along with Starbucks Toffee Nut Frappuccino and Toffee Nut Latte. Cranberry White Chocolate Mocha didn’t taste like Mocha at all with the distinct sweetness from the cranberry syrup coupled with the sweet taste from the white chocolate, Cranberry White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino is only for those with sweet tooth.

Tags: Bangsar Village II, Malaysia, Marmalade Cafe
Marmalade Cafe in Bangsar Village II has established itself for quite sometime. It was only until recently I managed to pay a visit to Marmalade Cafe for a quick dinner with coffee, of course.

Marmalade Cafe’s Flat White
Flat White is nothing extraordinary. The price of MYR 8.00 is a little steep though.

Marmalade Cafe’s Cappuccino
Cappuccino is just lovely even without the sugar, it tastes just right. Cappuccino is priced at MYR 9.00
Verdict: The coffee wasn’t so bad. The coffee art, of course, did add a little something to it which made the coffee tastes nicer. Coffee art is not a new thing — at least, we all know there are many cafes that have baristas who can make great coffee arts and decent coffee.

Cafe Le Passione at Hartamas Shopping Centre may not be your everyday coffee joint but the local folks love this place.

Cafe Le Passione’s Caffe Mocha
Caffe Mocha was love at first sight with the beautiful coffee art but nevertheless, it was nothing extraordinary and somewhat a little pricey for a hot drink at MYR 10.50.
Verdict: Not a bad cafe at all, it’s pretty quiet. However, the location is not ideal and the place is situated on a desolated shopping mall.

Espressamente Illy is a popular Italian cafe worldwide.

Espressamente Illy’s Espresso Shakerato Freddo
Espressamente Illy’s Espresso Shakerato Freddo is a double illy espresso, chilled and shaken with ice & liquid sugar. It is quite strong and not for the fainthearted. Espresso Shakerato Freddo retails at MYR 10.50.

Espressamente Illy’s Greco All’Italiana
Greco All’Italiana is illy’s funky version of an iced cappuccino. No doubt it is better than your regular iced cappuccino as not only it is well-balanced between ice, milk and espresso, it has a little bonus of chocolate powder to top it all. Greco All’Italiana retails at MYR 13.

Espressamente Illy’s Spaghetti Carbonara
While the coffee are great, there are nothing to shout about for the food. Spaghetti Carbonara was not too bad, better than the average cafes that serve pasta but I expect it to be a whole lot better since Espressamente Illy ought to be Italian. Spaghetti Carbonara costs MYR 20.
Verdict: Amazing coffee. I’ll stick to my fave Neve Fondete the next time.

Tags: Malaysia, Mbuji Cafe, Subang Carrefour, Tanzanian coffee
Mbuji Cafe has been expanding vastly since we last visited Mbuji Cafe in IOI Mall, Puchong including Tropicana City Mall.
However, Mbuji Cafe at Subang Carrefour is the same old place with very few customers.

Mbuji Cafe’s Irish Creme
Irish Creme was merely an ordinary coffee drink with tons of whip cream on top sprinkled with some chocolate powder. Bad Ass’ Jitter Juice would kick Mbuji’s ass anytime for Irish Creme (no pun intended).

Mbuji Cafe’s Caramello
Caramello, meanwhile was more decent with caramel topping as coffee art and not too sweet.
Verdict: Good coffee but knowing what you order would help you get the good drinks as not all flavors suit everyone.

Tags: Coffee Chemistry Cafe, Malaysia, Sunway Giza
After a few visits to Coffee Chemistry Cafe in Sunway Giza, I have to admit the service deteriorates each time we visited. When we first visited Coffee Chemistry Cafe, it was different as there weren’t many customers and therefore, the service wasn’t that bad.

Fine Blended Mocha
Fine Blended Mocha was somewhat disappointing, something I can easily do with a blender at home. The taste was mediocre, perhaps it was the amount of ice used.

Iced Cafe Mocha
The same goes for Iced Cafe Mocha where the actual taste of coffee diminished due to the amount of ice used.
Verdict: Great pasta. Mediocre coffee. Poor service. Certainly not a place for good coffee.
